(Cincinnati, Oh.) – A Dillsboro man police say overdosed in a McDonald’s play area in Cincinnati has been convicted.

Robert Palmer, 37, appeared in Hamilton County Municipal Court on Thursday. He was found guilty of two misdemeanor counts of child endangering during a short non-jury trial.

Palmer will be sentenced April 14.

Police said Palmer and his girlfriend, Tamica Jeffers, 33, also of Dillsboro, allegedly overdosed on heroin at the McDonald’s in Green Township on March 9. Their children, ages 8 and 5, were with them at the time. Palmer is the father of the five-year-old.

Palmer’s attorney told the court that his client was remorseful.

Meanwhile, Jeffers is still waiting to go to trial on the same charges.
