DCF Youth Council 5K Run/Walk Will Benefit Pantries, Endowment

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – The Dearborn Community Foundation (DCF) Youth Council 5K Run/Walk on April 27 will raise funds for Dearborn County food pantries and the DCF Youth Council Endowment Fund.

The Youth Council, which is made up of 18 high school-age youth (grades 9-12), will split proceeds from the from the 5K Run/Walk 50-50 between the food pantries and the DCF Youth Council Endowment Fund, which was established to allow the youth to make grants to charitable causes in Dearborn County.

“Anyone who participates in the Youth Council 5K Run/Walk is helping these fine young people make a difference in their community now and into the future through the endowment,” said Fred McCarter, DCF Executive Director. “It’s also a great chance to do something healthy and at the same time help others in our community!”

The DCF Youth Council 5K Run/Walk is at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 27, at the Lawrenceburg portion of the Dearborn Trails near the Ivy Tech Community College Riverfront Campus. Runners and walkers can register for the race by visiting stuartroadracing.com, or by stopping by the DCF office at 322 Walnut Street, Lawrenceburg. Race-day registration is available from Noon to 12:45 p.m. on April 27. Pre-registration cost is $15 (includes race T-shirt until 4 p.m. on Friday, April 4). Registration after April 4 and on  race-day is $20 (T-shirts available while they last).
