The chamber’s board of directors has selected Nancy Spivey to fill the role, said board chair Mark Banschbach. Spivey takes over for Mark Neff, who has been serving as the chamber’s interim president since Mike Rozow left in April 2013.

Spivey, a certified chamber of commerce executive, comes by way of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce where she was Chief Operating Officer and led that chamber’s leadership and workforce development affiliate. She was also Board President of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives.

According to a news release from the chamber, “She will provide the Dearborn County Chamber with broad expertise in customer centered leadership, workforce and community development, strategic planning, networking, process and product development, fund development and budget oversight, as well as motivating and mentoring colleagues and future leaders, human capital management and research and data analysis.”

Spivey is a Dearborn County native and an East Central High School graduate. She has worked in southeast Indiana before, serving as Rising Sun’s Community Development and Main Street director from 1997 to 2000.

A starting date for Spivey is yet to be finalized, but the latest she is expected to start is April 1, according to the release.

The chamber is planning an open house for the community to meet and greet Spivey in person. A date for that event has not yet been announced.
