(Aurora, Ind.) – A Lawrenceburg man is accused of attempting to leave the scene of an accident.

Michael W. Williams, 50, had wrecked a truck on East Laughery Creek Road at Cole Lane near Aurora at around 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 15. Instead of stopping immediately, he attempted to drive away from the scene.

Deputies found Williams a little further down the road where his vehicle was unable to travel any further.

Marijuana and paraphernalia were allegedly found in a cooler under the truck. Deputies say Williams told them the drugs were his.

Williams was arrested and jailed for Criminal Mischief (class A misdemeanor), Possession of Marijuana (class B misdemeanor), and Possession of Paraphernalia (class C misdemeanor).
