Deputies: Driver Was Using Cell Phone At Time Of The Crash

(Franklin County, Ind.) – Deputies say a one vehicle accident in Franklin County was caused by a distracted driver.

Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash on Wolf Creek Road near its intersection with Blue Creek Road around 6:38 p.m. on Sunday.

During the investigation, deputies discovered that the vehicle, driven by a 17-year-old female, of Brookville, was traveling eastbound on Wolf Creek Road when she lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree.

The vehicle then caught fire.

Deputies believe the juvenile was using her cellphone at the time of the accident.

The 17-year-old refused treatment at the scene.
