(Jefferson County, Ind.) – Residents and businesses in the area of the Jefferson Proving Ground are being put on notice.

The Indiana Air National Guard will be detonating old explosive ordnance at the sprawling preserve on July 24-25 and again July 30-August 1, said Johanna Siebenthal, Jefferson Range Scheduler.

The detonations will occur between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on those days with multiple blasts each day.

The explosions have been known to cause people as far away as Dillsboro and Milan to report hearing the explosion or feeling tremors.
