AUDIO: Diamond Rio Will “Meet In The Middle” Of Swiss Wine Festival
By Mike Perleberg
Diamond Rio will rock the Swiss Wine Festival stage on Friday, August 22.
(Vevay, Ind.) – In the 1990’s and early 2000’s, Diamond Rio ruled country music with hits like “Meet in the Middle” and “One More Day.”
This Friday night, the band will rule the stage at the Swiss Wine Festival. They are the headliner at the festival which runs August 21-24 at Paul Ogle Riverfront Park in Vevay.
Diamond Rio lead singer Marty Roe is a tri-state area native. He grew up in Lebanon, Ohio and worked in the summers at Kings Island. His family still lives in Warren County, Ohio.
“I worked in the warehouse and the night shift. We restocked all the little stands out there. So I got to drive my little four-wheeler all through the park with nobody in there,” Roe recalled in an interview with Eagle 99.3’s Bubba Bo Wednesday.

Diamond Rio formed in 1984 in Nashville. Unlike a lot of bands that have broken up over the years, Diamond Rio has stuck together. All the members are the originals.
“We like each other. We get along. We enjoy what we do together. We’re genuinely friends,” Roe explains. “A lot of bands who have broken up were put together for a record deal so they didn’t know each other that well. We didn’t come together that way.”
Roe says Diamond Rio – a six-time vocal group of the year and Grammy Award winners – is also planning to release their first ever live album this Fall. Their most recent studio album titled The Reasons is a collection of Christian songs.
A must-attend affair for tri-state wine lovers, the Swiss Wine Festival has been rated a Top Ten Event in Indiana by Top Events USA. Find a schedule and more information at www.SwissWineFestival.org.
