(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – When you drive by Lawrenceburg High School, know that you are driving past one of the most beautiful single-field stadiums in the nation.
The American Sports Builders Association (ASBA) presented its Distinguished Field Facilities on December 11.
The highest honor awarded by the ASBA is given out in various categories: Tennis Courts, Running Tracks, Sports Fields, Indoor Facilities and Track and Single-Field Facilities.
Lawrenceburg’s Dick Meador Stadium was one of 25 Single-Field Facilities recognized by the ASBA.
Projects are scored individually based on considerations such as layout and design, site work, drainage, base construction, surface, amenities, innovation and overall impression. Winning entries are those whose cumulative scores meet or exceed the standard.
In August 2015, Lawrenceburg debuted its new, $685,000 artificial turf. The multi-purpose field, which was laid by Cincinnati-based Motz Group, is the first artificial turf field at a southeast Indiana high school.
