(Dillsboro, Ind.) – A Dillsboro couple is accused of overdosing on heroin in a fast food restaurant play area while their children were playing.

Tamica Jeffers, 33, and Robert Palmer, 37, were both found unresponsive in the play place at the McDonald’s restaurant on North Bend Road in Hamilton County’s Green Township on Sunday, March 9. The couple’s children, ages five and eight, were with them at the time.

The two were taken to an area hospital for treatment for what police described as “life-threatening” overdoses. Investigators said they each admitted to using heroin.

They have since been released to authorities.

Palmer and Jeffers each appeared in Hamilton County court on Thursday to be arraigned, each on two counts of Child Endangering. The judge ordered Palmer be held on $10,000 bond. Jeffers’ bond was set at $6,000.
