Dillsboro Homecoming Festival Leaps Into Action Wednesday

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Dearborn County will kick off the start of the summer festival season this week with the Dillsboro Homecoming Festival, a popular street fair scheduled to take place May 14-17. The first Southeast Indiana festival of 2014, the Dillsboro Homecoming Festival offers food, fun and family entertainment on the streets of downtown Dillsboro, a small town located approximately 30 miles outside of Cincinnati.
Organized by the Dillsboro Civic Club, the festival has been named a “Grand Champion Event” four times by the Indiana Association of County and District Fairs.

Fri.: Beginning at 6:30pm
Sat.: Beginning at 8am (Parade begins at 11am)

In addition to traditional carnival rides, games and food booths, the event features a variety of fun activities, including a 5K Run & Walk, classic car show, and musical entertainment. Also on the agenda are a large number of crazy contests, including the popular frog jumping and best-dressed frog competitions, baby contest, and more. In the evenings, visitors will want to stick around for free concerts throughout the festival, including a return of the popular Dillsboro Idol Contest. Other performances include Two’s a Crowd on Thursday night, Ridge Runner on Friday night and Channel Kats, Centerline, and Linda Lee on Saturday night. A large parade on Saturday morning, complete with marching bands, floats and decorated entries, is also a highlight of the event.
