Hopefully this is a lesson for him.  He was honest at least and didn't try to weasel his way out of it.  But make him watch hours of videos and aftermaths of drinking and driving.  educate.  Locking someone up alone is just not enough.  Beat these crimes in peoples heads with actual data.  Same for drug users.  Show hours and hours of stuff to maybe open someone's eyes.  Even if it only helps one.  Maybe instead of jails having prime time television have DVDs based solely on educating

Just because you're honest about something doesn't mean you shouldn't have to pay for the decisions you make. He put everyone on the road in dangers because of his decisions therefore, he should pay for the consequences.

Everyone in entitled to their own opinions. Don't judge a person because they sin differently than you. I'm sure almost everyone has driven after drinking. Even just one drink. No one got hurt, and of course the damages are going to be paid for and if you knew him, I'm sure you'd know that apologizing to that lady is on his mind. Just because he drove while intoxicated does NOT make him any less of a man.
