(Metamora, Ind.) – A woman has been arrested for a hit-and-run accident at the annual Canal Days festival in Metamora.
It was Saturday afternoon when a three-year-old’s foot had been run over by a Chevrolet minivan on Clayborn Street at Hollands Alley. Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies say the child was holding the hand of an adult at the time.
The driver stopped briefly and told witnesses she was going to park her vehicle. However, she failed to return to the scene.

McKinney is charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Injury (class A misdemeanor) and Driving While Suspended with a Prior Conviction (class A misdemeanor). She has been released from jail after posting a $2,500 cash bond.
The child whose foot was ran over was treated for non-life threatening injuries at Fayette Regional Hospital.
