Drugs Found In Vehicle, Then In Residence

(Batesville, Ind.) – A Batesville man is facing drug charges following a traffic stop that led to a search of his home.

Batesville Police stopped 50-year-old Jonathan Salyer on September 22, allegedly finding marijuana and paraphernalia in his vehicle. Salyer was released from the stop, but officers obtained a search warrant for his residence.

During the subsequent home search, officers allegedly discovered d suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, other controlled substances, and a more paraphernalia.

Salyer was not home at the time of the search. An arrest warrant was issued by Ripley County Superior Court.

On Thursday, October 5, Salyer was taken into custody on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine (level 6 felony), Maintaining a Common Nuisance (level 6 felony), and two counts of Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance (class A misdemeanor).

Salyer was held in the Ripley County Jail.
