ECHS Students Hurt In Crash
(Cedar Grove, Ind.) – Four people – three of them East Central High School students – were injured in a crash in Franklin County on Thursday morning.
At about 7:49 a.m., A 1987 Chrysler LeBaron driven by Alexander Sehlhorst, 18, of West Harrison, was turned west from a private driveway onto U.S. 52 about two miles east of Cedar Grove, near Elkhorn. The turn was into the path of an eastbound 1998 Jeep Cherokee driven by Heather Stone, 35, of Brookville.
Stone told Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies she was unable to avoid a collision.
Sehlhorst and two of his passengers – Deven Fee, 17, of Lawrenceburg, and Tyler Losekamp, 18, of Cedar Grove – were injured. All three were flown by medical helicopter to University Hospital in Cincinnati.
Sehlhorst, Fee, and Losekamp are students at East Central High School in St. Leon. Their current medical conditions are not known.
Stone was taken by ambulance to Mercy-Franciscan Medical Center in Harrison.
U.S. 52 was closed between Cedar Grove and Elkhorn Road for approximately two hours while the crash was being investigated.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire Department, Brookville E.M.S. #2, Laurel E.M.S. #1, Cedar Grove E.M.S. #4, and Rescue 24.
