(St. Leon, Ind.) – One of the key components to East Central’s IHSAA Football State Championship run is set to play at the collegiate level.
Fullback and linebacker Jayden Williamson signed his letter of intent on Wednesday to continue his academic and athletic career at Wabash College.
As a senior, Williamson recorded 63 tackles, 7 tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks and an interception. Offensively, Williamson didn’t touch the ball much, but when he did he made it matter by picking up tough yards for first downs. His finals stat line included 31 carries for 123 yards and two touchdowns.
Williamson will join a Wabash program that went 8-2 last season, including a 7-2 record in North Coast Athletic Conference play.
Off the field, Williamson plans to major in Accounting.
Williamson wasn’t the only Trojans star to sign on the dotted line on Wednesday. Fellow linebacker Tanner Yocum signed to play at Thomas More College, while tight end Justin Brown signed to play at Marian College.
