Emergency Training In Boone Co. Thurs.

(Burlington, Ky.) – Boone County emergency responders will practice for an incident which results in numerous injuries and deaths.


Mass Casualty Incident will begin at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, May 24 at the Boone County Fire Training Center on Conrad Lane in Burlington.


The large MCI drill is being organized by the Boone County Emergency Management Department. Other agencies participating include but are not limited to the Burlington Fire Protection District, Boone County Sheriff’s Office, and Boone County Public Safety Communications Center.   


According to the department, the purpose of the exercise is to improve the capabilities of the public safety agencies of Boone County and neighboring jurisdictions relating to the response to and recovery from a MCI occurring within the jurisdiction. The plans, procedures, policies, equipment and training of personnel can be tested under simulated conditions prior to an actual event. 


Observers will identify deficiencies in the response and make recommendations on how to correct them.


The department said more specific information on the exercise will be released closer to the start of the drill.
