Emma, Mason Are Top Baby Names In Indiana
(Undated) – If Hoosier parents want their newborn child to have a unique name, they should avoid the names Emma and Mason.
Those were the two most-popular baby names in Indiana in 2011, according to the U.S. Social Security Administration. The data was compiled from Social Security card applications.
The administration found there were 507 newborn boys named Mason last year. Liam, Elijah, Noah and William rounded out the top five Indiana boy names. Among girls, 450 Emmas were born in the state followed by Olivia, Ava, Sophia and Isabella.
In Ohio, the most popular name were also Mason (886) and Emma (781). Among Kentucky babies, the most popular names were William (393) and Emma (330).
Nationwide, the top names were Jacob and Sophia.
