Exchange Students Need Local Host Families

Posted On June 12, 2014

(Undated) – Host families are needed for foreign exchange students in the 2014-2015 school year.

Students are available from many different countries and families choose their student(s) based on common interests, religious preferences, gender, or other characteristics.

To become a host family, one only needs to be able to provide room and board (meaning just a separate bed) and transportation to school (via a school bus).  On-line applications are available at www.cetusa.org or by contacting the local coordinator Betty Bourquein at (812) 934-4454.

Students come with a proficiency in English, their own insurance, and their own spending money.  They are to become a member of your family responsible for following the house rules, maintaining grades at school, doing light chores, and participating in family activities.

One needs to think globally but act locally to enjoy the benefits of this lifelong relationship with someone from another part of the world.

We had an exchange student growing up. The best thing for our family. A learning experience for all of us. He is still family to us. He is 40 now. He makes the big bucks in the family, Lol.
