Firefighter Will Be Laid To Rest Thursday

(Aurora, Ind.) – Fellow firefighters, family, and the community will say their final goodbyes to fallen firefighter Jason Richardson this week.
Richardson was killed in an off-duty vehicle crash in Florence on Saturday. He was 39.
Visitation for Richardson will be held at the Aurora Fire Department, 5950 Dutch Hollow Road, on Thursday, November 19 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Services will start at 2:00. Richardson will be buried in Napoleon.
Richardson was a firefighter for the Aurora and Lawrenceburg fire departments since 2008. He worked as a forklift operator at Beckman & Culture in Florence. He is survived by one daughter, his father and mother, two siblings, and a girlfriend. Richardson’s full obituary can be found here.
The family has asked that contributions be made to the Aurora Fire Department.
The driver who caused the crash that killed Richardson was arrested following the wreck. Florence Police say William Stanton, 47, of Erlanger, was under the influence of a controlled substance when his pickup truck collided with another vehicle before hitting Richardson’s car head-on with. Richardson was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in his car, Marquea Schwing, was seriously hurt.
