Fishing Limit Lifted At Milan Pond Ahead Of Lowering
By Mike Perleberg
(Milan, Ind.) – Starting Friday, July 11, there will be no limit to the amount of fish that can be caught at Milan Pond.
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Fish & Wildlife made the announcement Thursday.
The dam at Milan Pond is owned by CSX railroad company and is in need of repairs. In anticipation of the repairs, the 18-acre pond adjacent to Hoosier Link Golf Course and Darren Baker Memorial Park will be lowered.
With the pond being reduced in size, the IDNR will implement a temporary rule change eliminating the bag and size limits for all fish at the pond. The rule will stay in effect through July 10, 2015.
Public access to the pond can be found at the park.
The IDNR said a timeline for when the pond lowering and dam repair work will begin is yet to be determined.
I know this post is extremely old however does anyone know if I can take my kayak into this pond? Please let me know! Thanks!
In stopping by the park tonight I was appalled at the pond which housed so much beauty at one time and magnificent wild life:
Please bring this Beautiful pond back to life once again as it was and is a beautiful place in our city limits.
