(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – The rain keeps on coming, leading to flooding in some parts of the tri-state.

Since Wednesday, two to three inches of rain have already fallen. Another one to two inches of precipitation are expected by the time skies clear later Friday.

The Great Miami River at Miamitown is expected to surpass flood stage of 16 feet at some point this evening. The river is expected to crest at 19.7 feet around midnight, then fall below flood stage on Sunday.

Many other creeks and streams have flooded over low-lying areas and roads. State Road 262 near Dillsboro was closed due to flooding since Thursday afternoon.

The weather service says Switzerland, Boone, Gallatin, and Grant counties are under a Flash Flood Warning until 9:00 a.m. Friday. A Flood Watch remains in effect for the entire tri-state until 2:00 p.m.
