(Jefferson County, Ind.) – A court battle over the name of a non-profit project has been dismissed by a judge in Jefferson County, Indiana.

The Dearborn County Clearinghouse filed a lawsuit in September asking for an injunction against River Valley Resources in Madison when River Valley began a program called the Clearinghouse Project, according to the Madison Courier

The Dearborn County Clearinghouse in its complaint claimed that River Valley did not register the name with the Indiana Secretary of State.

The judge ruled that state statute does not require a nonprofit’s assumed name be distinguishable from another’s.
