Former Osgood Resident Found Dead In Parking Lot

(New Point, Ind.) – A woman with local ties was found dead at a truck stop in Decatur County earlier this week.
Sheriff Greg Allen tells Eagle 99.3 that the death of 25-year-old Felicia Craig does not appear to be suspicious or involve foul play.
Craig had been dead for about 10 hours before she was found around 5:00 p.m. Tuesday inside an SUV in the parking lot of the Petro Truck Stop off of Interstate 74 in New Point. A witness at the truck stop had seen Craig’s leg propped out of an open window of the vehicle, as if she was taking a nap, but decided to call police after several hours.
The victim was alone in the car, according to the sheriff.
An official cause of death is pending as investigators await results of toxicology tests. There were no obvious signs of trauma, Allen said.
Craig was a North Vernon resident who had previously lived in Osgood. She attended Jac-Cen-Del High School where she was a member of the Future Farmers of America and a cheerleader. She leaves behind one son, according to her obituary.
Services for Craig will be held Saturday, August 30 at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by the funeral at noon.
