Former Osgood Resident Found Dead In Parking Lot
By Mike Perleberg
(New Point, Ind.) – A woman with local ties was found dead at a truck stop in Decatur County earlier this week.
Sheriff Greg Allen tells Eagle 99.3 that the death of 25-year-old Felicia Craig does not appear to be suspicious or involve foul play.
Craig had been dead for about 10 hours before she was found around 5:00 p.m. Tuesday inside an SUV in the parking lot of the Petro Truck Stop off of Interstate 74 in New Point. A witness at the truck stop had seen Craig’s leg propped out of an open window of the vehicle, as if she was taking a nap, but decided to call police after several hours.
The victim was alone in the car, according to the sheriff.
An official cause of death is pending as investigators await results of toxicology tests. There were no obvious signs of trauma, Allen said.
Craig was a North Vernon resident who had previously lived in Osgood. She attended Jac-Cen-Del High School where she was a member of the Future Farmers of America and a cheerleader. She leaves behind one son, according to her obituary.
Services for Craig will be held Saturday, August 30 at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by the funeral at noon.
She was a beautiful girl so so sad that d**gs take over and a child losses out because of it! Why didn't someone go check on that girl! Pretty lousy police in that area! I hope the family is ok and especially the child she left behind! God be with you all!
Pretty insensitive to use a pic of her in a vehicle, with family members (including myself) reading news articles.
So Sheriff Allen says there is nothing suspicious aboaut a 25 year old women found dead with her leg halfway out the window..I guess not if you suspect suicide, by carbon monoxide poisoning. I hope they called in an real detective before they moved her body.
@smartjw They do not share everything with Eagle 99... They know exactly how she died. They said no obvious signs of trauma, not that there was nothing suspicious. I only know because of a mutual friend. Why is everyone so quick to jump on the police around here??

FYI... it actually DOES say that. Read the whole article before chiming in & you can avoid the embarrassment.
