Franklin Co. United Way Coat Drive In 23rd Year
By Matt Popovich
(Franklin County, Ind.) – Many young people could struggle to keep warm this winter, but the United Way of Franklin County is doing everything it can to provide warm garments to those in need.
You can put your seldom used winter clothes to good use by donating them to the United Way of Franklin County. The organization’s 23rd Annual “Coats for Kids” Drive will run until January. The United Way is in need of gently used coats sizes 5-16, hats, and gloves.
The United Way of Franklin County has three drop-off locations for coat donations: Touch of Magic Beauty Salon at 815 Main Street in Brookville; MainSource Bank in Brookville; or at the United Way office at 527 Main Street in Brookville.
Coats will also be accepted during Brookville’s November Noel event on Saturday, November 23 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on the Franklin County Courthouse lawn.
Local business Band Box drycleaners of Batesville has donated its services to the charity. Band Box will clean all of the donations, which will then be distributed to area children through schools across the county.
