volleyball-net(Switzerland County, Ind.) – Even by her standards, Switzerland County High School’s Eve Galbreath had a big week in earning the Ohio River Valley Conference Volleyball Player of the Week honors.

The conference’s best weekly performers for the week of August 25-30 were announced Wednesday.

Galbreath, a senior for the 4-4 Lady Pacers, accumulated 47 kills, 10 blocks, 50 digs, and three aces to go along with a 77 percent serve percentage and 73 percent pass percentage to earn the POTW designation.

The ORVC Cross Country Runners of the Week were both from Rising Sun. Kinzie Scott’s 22:56 performance at the Switzerland County Meet and an even better 21:37 at the Rushville Meet netted her the girls award. Fellow Rising Sun student Zach Martini was named the boys best runner with 18:55 at Switzerland County and 17:14 at Rushville.

South Ripley’s Mackenzie Black was the ORVC Girls Golfer of the Week. She shot a 43 at Spring Hills and a 47 at Belterra.

Soutthwestern’s Coleman Jackson was the ORVC Boys Soccer Player of the Week after kicking seven goals and making two assists.
