(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – New features are being added to the Special Olympics Indiana Fire Truck Pull happening Saturday, August 19 in Lawrenceburg.
Teams of up to 15 people will compete at pulling a 74,000-pound Lawrenceburg Fire Department ladder truck a distance of 50 feet in the shortest amount of time. The victorious team will receive the coveted Fastest Pull Challenge trophy. A trophy will also be awarded for the Lowest Combined Weight Pull.
“You have five minutes to pull it 50 feet. The quickest time has been a little under two minutes. The trick is that once you get it rolling, keep pulling,” says event organizer Greg Townsend.
