(Whitewater Township, Oh.) – Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a crash that seriously injured a teenager in Whitewater Township.

The accident happened on Interstate 275 near Kilby Road at around 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

According to the sheriff’s office, a 2008 GMC Sierra driven by Thomas Tritz, 57, was driving in the left lane when a FedEx truck driven by Keith Graham, 34, began to switch lanes into the left lane. The FedEx truck pinned Tritz’s pickup truck between it and the guardrail.

Tritz’s GMC got out of control and spun off the right side of the highway. It rolled over twice, ejecting a 17-year-old female passenger from the truck.

The teen was taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital where she was listed in critical but stable condition.

The crash remains under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Safety Unit. Drugs or alcohol are not believed to have played a role in the crash.
