Goepper Talks Southeast Indiana, Slopestyle On Late Show
By Mike Perleberg
(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – A southeast Indiana Olympian is making the talk show rounds before he heads to Russia for the winter games.
Nick Goepper, 19, of Hidden Valley, won a gold medal in men’s ski slopestyle at the Winter X Games on Sunday. On Tuesday night, he appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman.
Goepper talked with Letterman about being from the Lawrenceburg area and growing up skiing at Perfect North Slopes, although he didn’t mention the ski area by name.
Letterman, who is from Broad Ripple in Indianapolis, asked Goepper learned to ski in the Hoosier state, not exactly a cradle for Olympic skiers.
“We probably have an annual snowfall of about four centimeters,” Goepper said to the audience’s laughs.
