(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – He’s called the “Dollar Store Grandpa Bandit” and he’s been arrested in Lawrenceburg following a cross-country robbery spree.

David D. Hunter, 53, is wanted by the FBI after committing armed robberies at seven Dollar Tree and two Dollar General stores. The stick-ups happened in eight states spanning from New York to Idaho.

Lawrenceburg Police were notified Tuesday that Hunter may be at Hollywood Casino, according to Dearborn-Ohio County Prosecutor Lynn Deddens. Sure enough, a stolen Dodge Charge which Hunter was believed to be driving was located in the casino parking garage.

Hunter was finally taken into custody without incident by Indiana Gaming Commission agents in a restroom on the riverboat.

Hunter was charged with Auto Theft (level 6 felony) in Dearborn County. He’ll be facing federal charges for the robberies.
