(Rising Sun, Ind.) – Rising Sun-Ohio County Schools are thrilled with a new federal grant – and parents will be, too.

The school corporation has received a grant of $770,000 from the U.S. Department of Education through the 21st Century Community Learning Centers program, says superintendent Branden Roeder.

The funds will be used starting in the 2018-2019 school year to support free afterschool latchkey service. It will also fund bus transportation from latchkey.

The school district will also add academic-driven child care service during school breaks in the summer, fall, winter, and spring.
