(Greendale, Ind.) – Police have two men suspected of breaking into cars in Greendale in custody.

Greendale Police said last week that several break-ins had occurred recently. Many of the thefts were reported on Catalpa Avenue, said Officer Pam Taylor.

Chad Everette Brown, 26, of Cincinnati was arrested Friday night after witnesses contacted police with information identifying him. Taylor said Brown was the man seen in surveillance photos at a local convenience store soon after one of the thefts.

Brown is held in the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center charged with Theft, Attempted Theft, and Unauthorized Entry of a Motor Vehicle.

A second suspect was arrested on the same charges. Matthew Simpson, 26, told officers he was homeless.

Both men are scheduled to make their initial appearance in court on Monday.

Greendale Police said more charges could be filed against Brown and/or Simpson by Lawrenceburg Police for similar thefts which occurred there.
