(Indianapolis, Ind.) – New Indiana Republican Governor Eric Holcomb will present his first State of the State address on Tuesday, January 17.

Holcomb’s office announced the date of the speech on Tuesday. It will start at 7:00 p.m.

Each year, the governor presents the State of the State address to both houses of the Indiana Legislature, the Indiana Supreme Court justices and other state leaders to report on the state’s affairs and outline key priorities.

In his final State of the State address in January of 2015, then-Governor Mike Pence asked Ports of Indiana to study the potential for a new port on the Ohio River in southeast Indiana. The following October, Ports of Indiana selected the decommissioned AEP Tanners Creek Power Plant site in Lawrenceburg for the port development.

Holcomb was sworn into office on Monday.
