Holton Fire Chief Arrested On Meth Charge

(Holton, Ind.) – A Ripley County fire chief has been arrested on drug charges.

Gabriel Cruser, 40, was arrested by the North Vernon Police Department on Saturday, August 12. He was booked into the Jennings County Jail that night on preliminary charges of Possession of Methamphetamine (level 6 felony) and Possession of Paraphernalia (class A misdemeanor), according to a booking report from the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department.

Cruser is the chief of the Holton Volunteer Fire Department.

A bond of $3,155 was assigned to Cruser. He was no longer being held at the jail as of Wednesday morning, according to jailers.

Official charges have not yet been filed by the Jennings County Prosecutor’s Office.
