(Florence, Ky.) – A Florence man accused of burglarizing a home has been arrested.

Boone County Sheriff’s deputies say a homeowner on the 7100 block of Glen Arbor Drive near Florence found a man in his garage around 11:40 a.m. on Tuesday.

The man, identified as David Goderwis, 39, was allegedly found with a leaf blower, drill and drill charger that belonged to the homeowner.

Deputies say the homeowner pushed Goderwis out of the garage and exchanged a few choice words with him as he chased the would-be burglar off the property.

After obtaining an arrest warrant for Goderwis, Florence Police located him at a rest area off of Interstate 75 around 2:45 a.m. on Wednesday.

Goderwis fled the area leading a pursuit to Poole Road in Verona, where he was arrested and charged with multiple traffic and criminal charges.
