image(Moores Hill, Ind.) – A Dearborn County couple allegedly burglarized a barn, but their act was interrupted by the homeowner.

On Monday, a resident arrived at his home on Pollard Road in Moores Hill to find a strange SUV parked in his driveway, according to an affidavit filed in Dearborn Superior Court I. The resident confronted the two occupants, but they fled the scene in the SUV. The victim did manage to get the license plate number and call police.

Deputies tracked the SUV to the home of Jennifer Lyons, 32, of Aurora. She allegedly told police that a friend, Christopher Spain, 32, of Moores Hill, asked her for a ride. He drove Lyons in her vehicle to the home on Pollard Road, she told investigators.

Lyons would later show deputies where the stolen generator had been dumped on the side of Goose Run Road.

Lyons is currently in jail on charges of Burglary (Class C felony) and Theft (Class D felony).

Meanwhile, Spain remains at-large wanted on a warrant for the same charges. Anybody with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department, (812) 537-3431.
