Ind. Property Tax Bills Due Tuesday
(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Here’s a late reminder for Indiana property owners, one that could save them hundreds or thousands of dollars in late fees or penalties.
The fall installment of the 2012 payable 2013 property tax bills are due in most Indiana counties by the close of business on Tuesday, November 12. The fall statement was likely included with the billing that was mailed to property owners in March of this year.
Payments can be made at your county treasurer’s office. Payments sent by mail postmarked November 12 are considered on-time.
Dearborn County Treasurer Phil Weaver says property owners in his county have the following ways to pay:
-In person at the Treasurer’s Office Monday – Friday from 8:30 – 4:30 with extended hours on November 12 until 6:00 p.m.
-By mail postmarked by November 12 to Dearborn Co. Treasurer, 215-B W. High St., Lawrenceburg, IN 47025. Enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope if you would like your receipt returned.
-After office hours by using our drop-box inside the front doors of the County Administration Building by November 12. Enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope if you would like your receipt returned.
-By credit card by visiting our website at www.dearborncounty.org and selecting the “Pay” link on the left of the page.
Property owners whose taxes are escrowed with their mortgage payments typically do not have to pay the county treasurer themselves.
