(Undated) – Indiana Farm Bureau ELECT has endorsed Chip Perfect as their top candidate in the race for Indiana Senate District 43.
Indiana Farm Bureau ELECT is the political action committee of Indiana Farm Bureau, the state’s largest farm organization with 270,000 members.
A vote of two-thirds majority by the Overview Committee is required for endorsement.
“As a former ag education teacher with a degree in agriculture from Purdue University, a farm owner and father to 3 kids who achieved 10 years each in 4-H, candidate Perfect understands the importance agriculture to Indiana,” said Megan Ritter, director of public policy for Indiana Farm Bureau. “The primary endorsement of Chip Perfect by IFB ELECT is recognition of his support of policy priorities for agriculture, farm families and rural Indiana.”
Perfect is running for the seat that current District 43 Senator Johnny Nugent holds. Nugent announced his retirement last December, simultaneously endorsing Perfect.
The Perfect North Slopes ski area owner and operator will go up against fellow Republicans Bill McDonald, of Ripley County, and Mark Schneider, of Columbus, in the Tuesday, May 6 primary election. The winner will most likely go up against Democrat candidate Rudy Howard, of Dearborn County, in the November general election.
