Press release from the Indiana Department of Transportation

(New Point, Ind.) – The Indiana Department of Transportation plans to open Interstate 74’s eastbound outside lane and auxiliary lane next Wednesday (NOV 22) at mile marker 143.0 in eastern Decatur County, normalizing traffic at the New Point exit prior to the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Westbound I-75 on- and off-ramps at the State Road 101 exit in Ripley County will remain closed for several more weeks while contracted crews construct new deceleration and acceleration lanes.

Milestone is the state’s prime contractor for this $61 million pavement replacement project between the New Point and S.R. 101 exits on either side of Batesville. Work includes full-depth pavement reconstruction with new bridge superstructures at Little Laughery Creek and Western Creek.
