INDOT To Reconstruct SR 56 In Aurora
(Aurora, Ind.) – The Indiana Department of Transportation is planning a makeover of State Road 56 through downtown Aurora.
The complete pavement replacement, new curbs, sidewalks, and storm sewers would stretch from Fifth Street to U.S. 50.
The project is estimated at about $1.5 million. Construction is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2013, said INDOT media relations director Greg Prince.
INDOT is planning a public meeting with citizens and property owners on Wednesday, June 13. It will take place in the Aurora City Council Chambers, 235 Main Street. An open house will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by a presentation at 6:00.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide the community with updated information regarding the status of the project including the maintenance of traffic plan, project schedule and allow the INDOT project team an opportunity to meet with project stakeholders.
