ISP: Meth Lab Seizures Down Significantly In 2017
By Travis Thayer
(Indianapolis, Ind.) – Indiana State Police are encouraged by a reduction in meth labs statewide.
According to their latest report, there were 371 meth labs seized in Indiana last year, down from 943 in 2016.
Indiana has come a long way in stopping the production and distribution of meth since 2013, when there were 1,808 meth lab incidents statewide.
ISP credit state laws that have limited the availability of pseudophedrine, a cold medicine that’s a major ingredient in homegrown meth.
State Police also believe the meth lab drop directly correlates with increased flow of meth into the U.S. from other countries, in addition to a growth in heroin abuse.
