UPDATE: Jack-Knifed Semi Slows I-71/75 In Erlanger

Update published at 11:57 a.m.:

I-71/75 northbound in Erlanger fully reopened to traffic at around 11:00 a.m. Most of the traffic backup has been cleared.

No further details of the accident which led to the morning-long traffic jam have been released.


Update published at 8:39 a.m.:

I-71/75 northbound at the I-275 interchange in Erlanger remains reduced to just one open lane as of 8:30 a.m.

Northbound traffic has backed up into Florence. Motorists are reporting lengthy delays.

An accident involving a jack-knifed semi occurred there at around 5:00 a.m.

(Erlanger, Ky.) – A jack-knifed semi is causing a backup on northbound Interstate 71/75 in Erlanger early Thursday morning.

The accident happened at around 5:00 a.m. near the I-275 interchange. A man was reportedly found unconscious at the wheel of the semi.

One person was hospitalized.

I-71/75 northbound was closed following the accident. At least one lane reopened just before 6:00 a.m.
