JCD Senior To Defend Bluegrass MMA Heavyweight Title May 13

According to his father, Tyler Shipp’s fight to defend his title on May 13 has been cancelled due to his opponent getting injured. They will not be able to find him another fight for Hardrock MMA 89 at Turfway Park.

Tyler’s brother, Randy Shipp, will still be competing on May 13 in the heavyweight division for Team Shippwreck.

(Florence, Ky.) – A Jac-Cen-Del High School senior has quickly become one of the top mixed martial artists in the region.

Tyler Shipp is ranked 4th out of 330 heavyweights in the U.S. southeast, and is currently the Bluegrass MMA Heavyweight Champion.

Shipp, 18, will defend his title at Hardrock MMA 89 on Saturday, May 13 at Turfway Park in Florence, Kentucky.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Fights begin at 7:30.

Tyler’s older brother, Randy, will also be stepping into the ring in the heavyweight division. Both will be representing Team Shippwreck, in addition to Hybrid Gym and Team Demon.
