Judge Sally Blankenship To Speak At Ivy Tech Lawrenceburg

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – As part of its Leadership Lecture Series, the Lawrenceburg campus of Ivy Tech Community College will host a lecture by Judge Sally Blankenship, who will speak about the importance of women’s leadership roles in society.  The event will take place from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, in the Business Conference Center at the campus at 50 Walnut Street in Lawrenceburg.  The lecture is free; light refreshments will be served.

Having earned a bachelor of science in nursing, Judge Blankenship served as the health director for the Dearborn County Hospital.  She continued her education, earning a J.D. from Chase College of Law.  In 2006, she was appo­inted by Gov. Mitch Daniels as a judge for the Superior Court of Dearborn County.  Judge Blankenship will describe her journey from serving as the health director to becoming a judge.

The Leadership Lecture Series, including one lecture each spring, was begun in 2013 with the goal of providing a platform for area leaders to address issues faced by families in Indiana.  The series is also designed to promote civil debate, critical thought, and cultural understanding.
