Jump to It: L’burg Officer Joins Special Crimes Unit

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – A Lawrenceburg Police officer will make the jump to the Dearborn County Special Crimes Unit.


Officer Jacob Jump was recently assigned to the SCU by Lawrenceburg Chief of Police Gene Hunefeld. Jump will primarily serve as in investigator in the area of drug trafficking.


“Officer Jump has been the recipient of extensive training in this area over the past two years and has shown great promise in this area of law enforcement. I am very excited about the future of this assignment,” Hunefeld said in a news release from the Dearborn County Prosecutor’s Office.


SCU director Tom McKay said Jump will be a great asset to the unit.


Prosecutor Aaron Negangard commended the Lawrenceburg Police Department’s efforts.


“Chief Hunefeld and the Lawrenceburg Police Department continue to demonstrate their commitment to addressing the needs of our community by increasing resources to investigate drug trafficking in our area.  Their efforts will keep Lawrenceburg and Dearborn County a safe place to live and raise a family,” Negangard said.
