(Aurora, Ind.) – The election of officers for the Southeastern Indiana Korean War Veterans Chapter # 4 in Aurora, Indiana was recently held.

This is a very active group who is dedicated to helping our fellow veterans and especially with their Color Guard when they help to pay that final respect at a funeral by firing the three volleys, folding and presenting the burial flag to the next of kin and playing taps.

Usually the Color Guard will consist of 20-25 veterans. J.D. Largent is the Commander and his wife, Donna, is the coordinator for the group so they know what function they will be participating in and where.

The KWVA is always looking for members to help, especially with the Color Guard. You don’t have to be a Korean War Veteran to join and you can join as an associate member to help with the Color Guard. It’s an honor for us to be able to perform for our comrades and our community. Individuals interested in the opportunity should contact P.G. Gentrup at (513) 602-5595.
