Lawrence Motorsports Adding Jobs, Owner Says

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – A Lawrenceburg towing company is preparing to add 15 new employees.
Lawrence Motorsports Inc. owner Mike Lawrence, a Lawrenceburg City Councilman, also announced this week his company’s addition of two new tow trucks and two light service roadside assistance trucks. The business is also signing a new contract with AAA.
The 15 new jobs will bring Lawrence Motorsports’ employee total to 27, said Lawrence.
The company began under the name W&M Enterprises in 1994. Co-owned by Lawrence, his brother, and father, the family business manufactured and repaired air freight containers for companies such as UPS and DHL. In 1997, W&M Enterprises moved to Lawrenceburg, Indiana and began manufacturing trailers.
As Lawrence explains, when DHL moved from Hebron, Kentucky to Wilmington, Ohio, in 2006 W&M Enterprises lost the air freight container business. The business decided to stay in Lawrenceburg and added towing to the services provided.
In 2009, Lawrence took over the family business after the passing of his father, Carlos Lawrence. Once his brother left the business, Mike Lawrence renamed the business Lawrence Motorsports Inc. in 2010.
In May of 2013, Lawrence Motorsports Inc. won the AAA Allied Group 2013 Service Provider of Excellence Award. The business had signed a contract with AAA to be a towing provider in the Cincinnati area as well as the Lawrenceburg, Aurora, and Greendale area. With the new tow and service trucks added to his fleet, Lawrence said he is going after the 2014 AAA Service Excellence Award.
Lawrence Motorsports Inc. is joining Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg in sponsoring the Lawrenceburg Main Street Wine Walk scheduled for Friday, April 4.
