Press release from Southwest Local Schools

(Harrison, Oh.) – Thanks to a generous donation from PCS Phosphate, students at Crosby Elementary will soon have several new pieces of equipment to support their academic program.

The school is earmarking the $10,000 gift, the most recent donation in the corporation’s ongoing support to the school, for technology-related supplies that will complement their current curriculum.

“We’re extremely grateful for this donation and for PCS’s continuing support of our school,” states Crosby Elementary Principal Kiersten Rogers.

She explains, “We’ve been fortunate to have them as a community partner as they truly live out their corporate value of building communities. Thanks to their gift, we will be able to enhance our STEAM program and other academic offerings for our students.”

Such components are just one of many being implemented throughout the district as part of the STEAM initiative (science, technology, engineering, arts and math).

“Such gifts like this generous donation from PCS are important as they facilitate us in incorporating the STEAM activities into our curriculum,” adds Rogers.
