(Cleves, Oh.) – A popular local church will celebrate its 100th birthday this weekend.

Whitewater Crossing Christian Church will celebrate hitting the century mark on Sunday, May 15 at its 9:00, 10:30, and 11:59 a.m. services.

The birthday bash will include a tower of cupcakes, a photo mosaic of its members, three photo booths, and a sermon on how ordinary people are called to do extraordinary things.

The regional church has seen an unprecedented amount of growth since opening in 1916 under the name Westwood-Cheviot Church of Christ. This year, the church is adding more than 56,000 square feet to its building, which should be ready by the end of the year.

“Even though 100 years old, our mission remains the same “to help people find hope in Jesus and a home in His local church” and we are sharing that hope in fresh and exciting ways every week.” David Vaughan, Senior Minister

Today, an average of more than 1,400 people attend weekend services at Whitewater, which is far more than the original 48 that first incorporated the church in 1916.

Whitewater Crossing Christian Church is located at 5771 State Route 128, Cleves, Ohio 45002.
