(Undated) – Three Sunman-Dearborn Middle School students traveled to Memphis Tennessee November 18 and 19 to compete with the 13U Indiana Olympic Development girls soccer team in the Germantown Invitational Tournament.

Sixth graders Olivia Hopper and Lexi Watkins along with 7th grader Erika Wells were each selected in October to travel and play for the team, says parent Chris Hopper.

In the first game the girls beat the Lady Lobos Rush Black team 2-1, a team they would meet again later.  In the second game of the day they ended up defeating the Purple Rain 2-0 after a 30 minute weather delay.

On Sunday, they defeated the Lady Lobos Black team again, this time by a score of 2-0 in the semi-final match.  Going 3-0 they had earned a trip to the finals.

In the finals, they played hard but lost 1-3 to a strong Tennessee team, CSA Lady Lobos Rush Blue. Watkins score the team’s only goal on a header from a corner kick.
