South Dearborn 7, Union County 2 – Brady Fentress and Alex Smith each went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI. The SD duo also dominated on the mound. Smith started and pitched 5.0 innings allowing 3 hits, no earned runs, 4 walks, and 6 Ks. Fentress pitched the final 2.0 innings allowing just 1 hit and 3 walks with a strikeout.
Franklin County 2, Batesville 1 – Franklin County won by scoring a run in the top of the 10th inning off a Tommy Ratz sac fly. FC’s Jake Fields went 4-for-4 with a solo homer. Franklin County starter Blake Ripperger went 3.0 innings with a hit and 4 Ks, then Alex Bischoff pitched the final 7.0 scoreless innings with 4 hits and a walk allowed while striking out 3. Lane Osterling had Batesville’s lone RBI and took the hard-luck loss on the mound as he struck out 5 batters.
Jac-Cen-Del 16, Waldron 6 – JCD senior Ben Harlemert went 1-for-3 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. Six other Eagles recorded an RBI: Connor Toops, Dustin Herbert, Michael Flint, Dylan Swinney, Cody Campbell, and James Burford. JCD starter Michael Flint went 3.2 innings with 6 hits, 3 earned runs, 3 walks and 3 strikeouts.
Rising Sun defeated South Dearborn on the links 171-191 on Tuesday. Rising Sun’s Brent Turner was the meet medalist with an impressive 38 shots. South Dearborn was led by Drew Miller with a 40.
Southwestern combined for a low score of 171 to defeat Milan and South Ripley.
South Dearborn 5, Southwestern 0 – via SouthDearbornAthletics.com – The Knights took control of the momentum early with great placement and utilized the whole court. Madison Fentress captured a hard fought win with Emma Foley at number one singles by the score of 6-4, 7-5. Sydney Yoe hit the ball well at number two singles in the win against Sam Sutherd 6-1, 6-0. Madison Zoller moved the ball around the court in her win against Zoe Griffin at number three singles. In doubles action, number one duo of Samantha Fisher and Skylar Lane defeated Ashlyn Cloud and Kaytlynn Sommer 6-2, 6-2. Number two doubles team of Brooklyn Cromer and Emily Seward won 6-0, 6-3 against Avery Davis and Laney Marshell.
Lawrenceburg 3, Batesville 2 – Sierra Cornn was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Batesville.
